The investment group Kaprain has today completed the acquisition of FK Pardubice football club, acquiring an approximately 70% stake in the club from the majority of its shareholders. In doing so, Kaprain is not only strengthening its support for sport but also expanding its presence in Pardubice, where it has owned and developed the long-established chemical company Synthesia since last year. Synthesia will now become a strategic partner and supporter of the club.
“Competitiveness and sporting spirit are deeply rooted in the DNA of our investment group. We are therefore very pleased to embark on the long-term development of both professional and youth football in Pardubice,” explained Jaromír Štantejský, Kaprain’s Director of Mergers & Acquisitions, adding: “At the same time, we are well aware of the club’s immediate needs and will provide funding to strengthen the first-team squad during the current transfer window.”
“We have been searching for a strong strategic partner that would take good care of the club and youth football for a very long time. I am happy that we have reached an agreement with Kaprain, a group that has consistently demonstrated its genuine commitment to supporting sport,” said Vít Zavřel, Chairman of the Board of FK Pardubice, adding: “We are also truly looking forward to this new partnership and cooperation with the regional company Synthesia.”
“We have major long-term plans for the development of Synthesia, which employs almost 1,500 people. Entering FK Pardubice and supporting not only adult but, above all, youth football is, in our view, a natural way to contribute to the city and the region we operate in. We believe our approach will also encourage the city and other local organizations to increase their support for football,” Štantejský concluded.
