MAFRA, part of Kaprain Group, has reached an agreement with the international ticketing company AS Piletilevi PLG on the sale of Ticketportal – the largest Czech and Slovak ticket seller for cultural and sporting events.
“Our long-term vision is to strengthen and grow Mafra primarily as a media group. That’s why we decided to accept one of several attractive offers and proceed with the sale of Ticketportal,” said Marcel Dostal, CEO of Kaprain Group.
“I have led Ticketportal Group since it became part of the Mafra media group. With a fantastic team, we have built Ticketportal into a strong and successful brand in the Central European market. I am pleased that Ticketportal will now gain a strong strategic partner in PLG, which will continue its further development,” added Michal Hanák, CEO of Mafra.
PLG is the largest ticketing company in Central Europe. It entered the Czech and Slovak markets in the summer of 2023 by acquiring a majority stake in GoOut.
PLG is owned by the investment firm Angel Rose Capital, founded by the entrepreneur Sven Nuutmann, alongside the Baltic investment fund BaltCap and the Estonian investment firm Tristafan. The group operates in seven countries with a combined population of around 80 million (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Romania). With more than 350 employees, PLG marked its 28th anniversary in the spring of 2025. The annual volume of tickets sold under the PLG brand exceeded 21 million, with a total value of EUR 600 million, and the company’s website attract more than 160 million visitors each year.
